Description

Mission: Working in partnership with parents, Carolina Day School discovers the promise, inspires the journey, and celebrates the achievements of every student while providing a rigorous college preparatory program. Carolina Day School is situated on 28 wooded acres in the mountains of North Carolina. The school carries on the traditions of academic excellence, social responsibility, and character development, which were strengthened by the 1987 merger of Asheville Country Day School (founded in 1936) and St. Genevieve/Gibbons Hall (founded in 1908). The school serves approximately 650 students with class sizes of 12, 16, and 18. Distinctive features of the rigorous college preparatory curriculum include 20 Advanced Placement courses, a variety of athletic and arts offerings, outdoor and environmental education, leadership training, college guidance program, and a focus on community service and character education. The Summer Quest program offers enrichment in the arts, sciences, and athletics.
