Description

The Program for the Exceptionally Gifted (PEG) is a unique residential program that offers academically talented young women the opportunity to begin college one to four years early while living with their peers. Eligible students may enter the program at any point after completing the eighth grade (or its equivalent), although some exceptions are made for students who have only completed the seventh grade. PEG students are full-time college students and generally receive their BA or BS degree within four years. All PEG students begin their experience in a supervised residence hall where they receive the support necessary to adjust to college life. A full-time professional staff trained in meeting the social and emotional needs of gifted girls provides supervision, guidance, and specialized programming. Age-appropriate activities are planned around students' interests. Eventually, PEG students live independently on campus; the number of independent years varies according to the age and maturity of each student.
